Bar lines

Single Bar Line: A single bar line shows the end of a measure.
You don’t stop here or do anything special, just play right past it.
It simply marks the end of the “container” that holds a set number of beats.

A double bar line works just like a single bar line, but with one difference:
it shows the end of a section of the song.
You don’t stop or change anything, you simply keep playing past it.
We use double bar lines to show that one part of the music has finished and a new part is about to begin.

Final Bar Line: When you see the end bar line, the song is finished.
This is where you stop playing.

The repeat symbol is marked by two dots.

Dots pointing right (toward the music) show where a repeat begins.
Dots pointing left show where a repeat ends.

Anything between these two symbols should be played again.

If there’s no start-repeat symbol,
then you go all the way back to the beginning of the song and repeat from there.
