Terms of Service

Welcome to Sound of Emotions

Before you access our site and the educational courses, please read these Terms of Service carefully. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. We may revise these terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on our website, and we will notify you via email or on our site whenever significant changes are made.

Sound of Emotions provides an online platform dedicated to piano education, helping you learn at your own pace with structured courses and exclusive material.

Course Access and Content

Our courses are designed to be consumed over time and may include video lessons, MP3 files, and sheet music made exclusively for active members. Membership gives you access to all current and future materials for the duration of your subscription. We also offer a lifetime access option, which grants you perpetual access to the course materials, and standalone module purchases for learners who want a specific course without a full membership.

Definition of Lifetime. For the purposes of these Terms of Service, “lifetime” access refers to the period during which Sound of Emotions continues to offer and support the purchased course. This access is not subject to subscription fees or renewal charges. Lifetime access is guaranteed for the operational lifetime of the course within Sound of Emotions, which is contingent upon Sound of Emotions (David Magyel) continuing to offer and support the course. Should Sound of Emotions or the specific course be discontinued, users will be notified in advance and given the option to download the course videos, so they can retain access to the educational content they have purchased.

Subscriptions

Your Sound of Emotions membership renews automatically each billing cycle. To use the service, you need:

  • Internet access,
  • A device compatible with Sound of Emotions, such as a PC, smartphone, or tablet, and
  • One or more valid payment methods.

Payment Method is defined as a current, valid, accepted way to make payments, which may change over time and could include payments through a third-party account. Cancel your membership before the start of the next billing cycle to avoid being charged for another period. For instructions, see the Cancellation section below.

Billing and Cancellation

1. Billing Cycle. The membership fee will be charged on the billing date shown on your My Account (Dashboard) page. Your billing cycle depends on the plan you selected when you signed up. Fees are due and payable at the time of billing. Your payment date may change if a payment fails, or if your membership started on a date not present in every month. You can view your next payment date by logging in from a desktop or laptop.

2. Payment Methods. You need to provide one or more payment methods to use the service. You authorize us to charge any payment method linked to your account if your primary payment method is declined or unavailable. You are responsible for any unpaid amounts. If a payment fails and you have not canceled your account, we may pause your service until we can charge a valid payment method.

3. Updating Your Payment Methods. You can update your payment methods on the My Account page (Dashboard → Plans → Plan → Update Payment Method). After any update, you agree that we may continue to charge the updated payment methods.

4. Cancellation. You can cancel your Sound of Emotions membership at any time, and you will continue to have access to the service until the end of your current billing period. To cancel, visit the My Account page and follow the cancellation instructions (Dashboard → Plans → Plan → Cancel Plan). Your account will close automatically at the end of your billing period. If you signed up through a third-party payment method, you may need to manage your subscription through that service and turn off auto-renew.

5. Changes to Prices and Subscription Plans. We may change our subscription plans and prices. Any changes will take effect after we notify you.

Refund Policy

We want Sound of Emotions to actually work for you. If it does not, we will give your money back.

1. 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee. Every new membership, lifetime purchase, and standalone module purchase comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If within 30 days of your initial purchase you are not happy with the courses, email us at hello@soundofemotions.com and we will refund your payment in full.

This is an unconditional guarantee. You do not need to provide a reason. We may ask what did not work so we can improve, but you do not have to answer. The refund is yours either way.

2. How the Guarantee Works.

  • The 30-day window starts on the date of your initial purchase.
  • For subscriptions (monthly or annual), the guarantee applies to your first payment. After the first 30 days you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of your paid period, but past payments are not refundable.
  • For lifetime access and standalone module purchases, the 30-day window starts on the date of purchase.
  • Refunds are returned to your original payment method. Once a refund is issued, access to the refunded course materials ends.

3. Try Before You Buy. If you want to get a feel for Sound of Emotions before purchasing, we offer free sample lessons. You can sign up and try lessons from each of the courses. If after trying them you still have questions, reach out and we will help.

4. Store Purchases. One-off purchases from the store, including sheet music PDFs, workbooks, and bundles, are final sale and not covered by the 30-day guarantee. This is because these items are delivered as digital files that remain in your possession after purchase. If there is a problem with a file, contact us and we will make it right.

5. Continued Access After Cancellation. If you cancel your subscription outside the 30-day guarantee window, you will continue to have access to the course materials through the end of your current billing period.

6. Discretionary Credits. At any time, for any reason, we may offer refunds, discounts, or other forms of consideration (“credits”) to some or all of our members. The provision of such credits is at our sole and absolute discretion and does not create an entitlement for future credits under similar circumstances, nor does it obligate us to provide credits in the future.

7. Consumer Rights. Sound of Emotions operates in Norway. Our 30-day money-back guarantee is a voluntary commercial promise that is more generous than the statutory minimum set by Norwegian and EU consumer law, and it applies regardless of whether you have started watching lessons or downloading materials. For more information on your statutory rights, see the EU’s guide on Consumer Guarantees and Returns.

8. Contact Us. For refund requests or any other questions, email hello@soundofemotions.com.
