What is Sound of Emotions?
Sound of Emotions is a complete music education experience in one simple platform. You learn blues, jazz, and other styles as tools to build the technique and freedom you need to express yourself at the piano. These styles work together to open up your creativity, helping you turn your feelings into music.
How does it work?
You choose a module and start with lesson one. You play along with me, and if you can follow the full video from start to finish without mistakes, you move on.
For improvisation lessons, you get one very specific task. When you can do that task, the lesson is complete. It’s really that simple.
What is the difference between your YouTube Channel and the Sound of Emotions site?
Soundofemotions.com is a complete step-by-step piano course built from years of teaching. Nothing is random. Each lesson builds on the last, guiding you from beginner to advanced pianist with zero guesswork.
My YouTube channel is different. It’s a mix of jazz, blues, and pop ideas, mostly for advanced players. It’s where I test concepts that don’t belong in the structured curriculum of the main site.
What are the different plan and pricing options?
Currently, we offer three subscription plans:
- Monthly Plan: $49.95, billed montlhy.
- Yearly Plan: $239.40, billed annually.
- Lifetime Plan: $749, one-time payment. Alternatively, you can choose a payment plan of $375, billed twice over two months, after which no further payments are required.
Can I buy just one module?
If a full access monthly or yearly subscription isn’t quite right for you, or if lifetime access is beyond your budget, please contact us directly to discuss purchasing the specific module you’re interested in.
Can I upgrade from a monthly membership to a yearly or lifetime one and save money?
You can easily upgrade your membership through your account settings, whether you have a monthly or yearly plan.
Here’s how:
1. Log in to your account.
2. Click on “My Account.“
3. Select your current plan.
4. Click on “Next” to review your new plan, where you’ll see the discounted price based on your current membership.
5. Click “Confirm” to switch to your chosen plan.

Will I be automatically charged?
Yes, you’ll be charged on the same date each month or year as your initial subscription.
Can I cancel the automatic renewal of my membership?
Yes! You can cancel at any time through your customer dashboard:
1. Log in to your account.
2. Click on “My Account.”
3. Go to your current plan.
4. Select “Cancel Plan.”

If I cancel my yearly membership, do I get a refund for the rest of the term?
No, there are no refunds for cancellations. If you cancel an annual membership, you’ll continue to have access until your current term expires. If you’re unsure about committing for a full year, consider our monthly membership option instead. It bills you monthly, and you can cancel at any time to stop future payments from the next billing cycle.
Who can I speak to if I need help?
If you need help, feel free to email us at hello@soundofemotions.com. Peter, my childhood and best friend, handles billing and technical queries. Although he works diligently to respond as quickly as possible, please note that he also has a full-time job outside of customer support for Sound of Emotions. Therefore, we aim to follow up on all weekday inquiries within 48 hours.
Do you explain things in your videos?
I explain music through music. You learn by playing along with me, which keeps the videos clear and focused on practical playing.
Each video also includes a short written explanation with images that highlight the important parts. This makes the instructions light and easy to follow.
Because the written notes are separate from the video, I can keep improving them over time for even more clarity and accessibility.
What kind of feedback do you provide?
It varies from student to student, but here’s how it typically works: Once I receive some information from you, such as the modules you’ve completed, the module and lessons you’re currently working on, and a video link of you playing the exercise you want feedback on, I’ll review your video. Then, I’ll let you know what was good and what could be improved either via email or directly under your unlisted YouTube video.
If your performance was good, I’ll simply write you a short comment to let you know you are awesome and ready to continue with the curriculum. However, if something was not quite right and it bothered my ears, I will tell you exactly what you need to work on before you can move on. Moreover, if I notice the same issue coming up frequently among other members, I will create additional videos to help address these common problems.
How long does it take to complete the curriculum?
Most students move through the full curriculum over several years, but the pace is flexible. Some move faster by focusing on the play-along aspect of the course, while others take more time and go deeper. The curriculum supports both paths and shows you exactly how to progress in the way that fits you best.
How do I know if this is the right piano course for me?
You can explore a free sample course that gives you a clear preview of how the program works. You’ll be able to try a few lessons, and experience the play-along style of teaching.
It also lets you test the platform itself, so you can get a feel for the interface, navigation, and overall flow.

Can I receive a refund if I find the course isn’t a good fit for me?
Due to the immediate access to our digital content, including downloadable piano workbooks, we do not offer refunds once a purchase is completed. However, we understand how crucial it is to find the right course for your needs. That’s why we’ve bundled sample lessons into a free course, giving you a comprehensive preview. This also allows you to test the interface, navigation, and user-friendliness of our platform. If, after this experience, you are still unsure whether the course is right for you, please reach out to us. We are more than happy to assist and provide further guidance.
I can't mark a lesson as complete. Why?
When the lesson is text-based, you can click “complete” right away. However, when there is a video in the lesson, you need to watch it until the very end (or skip to the very end) before you can mark it as completed. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of the Learndash system we are using. We have submitted a related feature-improvement suggestion, but we don’t know whether it is going to be considered or not.
