Lesson 24: Exploring C (Fast and Slow)

What Will You Learn in This Lesson?

In this chapter, we’ve introduced two new notes: C and F. Now, it’s time to return to our one-note explorations. So far, we’ve explored High or Low, Loud or Quiet, and Long or Short.

Next, we’ll focus on:

Fast or Slow: Music can feel energetic and fast, or slow and relaxed.

How to Practice Effectively:

Take 10-15 minutes to practice alternating between fast and slow C notes. The goal is to explore how they sound and feel—don’t overthink it, just have fun experimenting with how they feel and sound.

How Do You Know You’re Ready to Move to the Next Lesson?

Level 1 – Basic: You’ve improvised for 1 minute using fast and slow C notes.

Level 2 – Solid: You’ve improvised for 5 minutes, alternating between fast and slow C notes.

Level 3 – Pro: You’ve improvised for 10 minutes, alternating between fast and slow C notes.

Fast Track Option:

If you can freely alternate between fast and slow C notes for 1 minute, you’re ready to move on!
