Get Started

This module is for players who already improvise a bit and want to add a touch of blues to their sound.
You’ll explore five simple tools: the blues scale, pick-up notes, grace notes, rhythmic displacement,
and an Oscar Peterson lick.
Together, they help you solve the biggest problem most beginners face:
running out of ideas.

Every tool starts with short exercises, moves into improvisation, and ends in full performance.
You’ll apply everything in two original blues pieces and the jazz standard Summertime.

By the end, your improvisations will carry a real blues sound, and you’ll have enough tools to keep your playing
creative and engaging.
